Fault in her ‘Kundli’

Image
Belonging to an affluent family in Jabalpur, she was born into a fairytale life and literally fed with a silver spoon. Blessed by good genes, she was not exactly breathtakingly beautiful, but with all the designer clothes and fine jewellery, she definitely commanded a second look. Pampered, rich and spoilt silly she was living the life every girl craved for. Her parents couldn’t have another child due to complications during her delivery and they made their peace with this fact and bought up Aarti with all the love and affection they could bestow on her.   They never differentiated with her being a girl and raised her as an equal. She was sent to the finest school and later to the college of her choice. They never invoked their will on her. Aarti was a bright student and learnt the ropes of business along with her dad in her free time. She had sharp business acumen and loved to help her father at work. Her mother was a beautiful and happy soul. She was a contented woman w...

Loneliness!

The sky outside is blue and bright, Yet somewhere in my heart, there is fright. Of what the day holds for me Wondering, if its happiness or sadness, in store for me. A deep vacuum fills my heart Despair and pain tears me apart. Amongst the sea of faces I know, I’m waiting for that smiling face, whose heart with love for me glows.

Apna Time Aayega ! Female Version

Wow.. Since the launch of the trailer, the anthem "Apna Time Aayega" from Gully boy has caught on like a rage. Even I can't stop humming it myself. Forget the rap part , only the "Apna Time Aayega" is where my focus is. Sounds so positive and uplifting. Can't discredit the hunky Ranveer Singh and his boisterous presence on screen which lends the song all the more credibility. Well Ranveer and his growth as an actor deserves a separate blog altogether 😃           Coming to the point.. Rather the anthem "Apna Time Aayega", it made me feel like a queen, someone who can do anything and everything. We as women always have prejudices that we can't do this or that or that it's not my cup of tea, some notions inherent and some fed by the society and people along the way. There's always a list we have to adhere to as a girl whilst growing up and an even bigger list of things that we cannot even dare to do. Think about it, how many times ha...

New Beginnings!

December would forever be our favorite month, exclaimed little Kiran to Asha. Both had never known their birth parents and were discarded in a heap of rubbish. They lived in an orphanage and were subjected to cruelty and torture of another kind, which those little angels never understood. One day, when they could no longer control, they bared their heart open to the angelic teacher who came to teach them once every week. Life changed there and then, when the police raided the shelter giving hope to the children that henceforth all their miseries and sufferings would definitely end.

#100WordStory Don’t grow up…Ever

After an exhausting trip to the market, the kids started yelling garden...garden.   Exhausted as she was, she could do with some me time whilst the kids played under her watch. She sat on the grass and looked around at the happy faces of the kids. The innocence in their smile and carefree attitude. Just then, a balloon bounced on her. Catching it instinctively, she caught her kids looking at her.   All the exhaustion aside, she stood up looking at those pleading eyes and said “catch me if you can”

Bringing out the inner child in you!

Image
The entire day I’ve been coming across children’s day post, where pictures from our childhood were posted of themselves or of their children when they were toddlers. There was no single picture of us as adults indulging in our favorite things or memories from our childhood. It shows us how busy we have become in our life that we’ve learnt only to move ahead leaving the past behind. In a way, yes that’s a great way to live life; in the present and true for most people who have not had a great childhood and wish to leave the old memories behind. But as per me, memories make us (omission of the word or break is intentional). The pleasant ones give us something to look forward to and the bad ones teach us to learn from our mistakes. Both all in all work for us, if we learn how to apply them positively in life. Why do we then forget to enjoy and live life carefree like we did as children, without any inhibitions and pressure to succeed? Why do we not try thing just to experience i...

#100WordsStory The Reflection!

Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Kiran smiled. She reminiscined about her childhood when she would stare at her mother’s beautiful face. The raven black long hair, red lipstick and her assuring smile, made her going to work at nights easier for Kiran. Her mother was a bar dancer who was trying to raise her child with dignity and respect. Kiran caught her mother staring at her in the mirror. She looked at Kiran with pride and love. Kiran had to leave for work, and couldn’t be late. The CEO of the company had to set the right examples.
